To pay his way through university, Marius Gabriel started writing romances for Mills
& Boon, and ended up becoming one of their top-selling authors, with some 40 romances
to his credit.
After he graduated, he kicked off his high heels and turned to sterner stuff, and
wrote a number of family sagas, including The Original Sin and The Mask of Time,
which were all international best-sellers. Since then, he has concentrated on historical
fiction set in the ancient world and the early 20th Century.
Born in South Africa in 1954, Marius has travelled widely and currently lives in
Cairo, where he is working on his new wartime novel, Weep No More. He has three children,
without whom all his books would have been finished in half the time.
